Ford Dealership Network is the Best for Vets

The Ford dealership network was the only one featured in MilitaryTime’s “Best for Vets: Employers 2019” list, an annual compilation of the top businesses and organizations that hire and support veterans.

The Ford dealership network was ranked 78th overall in MilitaryTime’s list of for-profit organizations, even as no other dealership network or car manufacturer was featured. The awards were based on a 91-question survey that focused on everything from recruitment and accommodation of veterans to how work policies and culture impact them.

“This recognition is a credit to our ongoing efforts with connecting transitioning military and veterans with great job opportunities at Ford and Lincoln dealerships across the country,” said retired U.S. Army Colonel Vanessa Benson, Ford Motor Company Military and Veteran Initiatives. “Our commitment to our veterans is a core part of what makes us Built Ford Proud.”

Ford was highly rated for many reasons, including its policies that allow spouses of members of the military to work flexible hours, work remotely, and even transfer freely because of constraints caused by their significant other’s service.

Ford also has a policy of hiring based on military experience over certification, and earned the maximum four-star rating for veteran on-boarding, which looks at how a company orients, trains, and mentors new veteran employees.
