When you think about the Ford Mustang, you probably imagine heart-pounding speed and performance in a sleek coupe or convertible design. Now, Mustang fans will have a new option to choose from in the form of the Mustang Mach-E. This is an all-electric SUV that sets the bar high for electric performance and capabilities.
“The Mustang Mach-E wholeheartedly rejects the notion that electric vehicles are only good at reducing gas consumption,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford’s chief product development and purchasing officer. “People want a car that’s thrilling to drive, that looks gorgeous, and that can easily adapt to their lifestyle — and the Mustang Mach-E delivers all of this in unmatched style.”
The Mustang Mach-E will arrive late this year and will be available with either a standard or extended-range battery option. With the extended-range battery, the Mach-E is expected to have a total driving range of at least 300 miles. It will also have a targeted output near 332 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque.
For driver looking for even more power, there will be two special performance versions available. The GT model will be able to reach 60 mph in less than 4 seconds, while the GT Performance Edition will boast a 0-60 mph time in the mid-3-second range.
The Mustang Mach-E is available to reserve now on Ford’s website, and we can’t wait to welcome it later this year to our showroom here at Midwest Ford.
