If you don’t want to choose between an upscale driving experience and off-road-ready equipment in your next family SUV, the 2020 Ford Expedition Limited trim with the new FX4 off-road package may be your ideal vehicle.
“There’s a growing trend in people looking to enjoy rugged terrain without having to give up the refinement, comfort or convenience of getting there,” said Devin McParlane, Ford Expedition consumer marketing manager.
When it’s outfitted with the available FX4 package, the Expedition boasts 32-inch all-terrain tires, premium off-road-tuned shocks, seven underbody skid plates, a shorter chin spoiler underneath the front bumper, and chrome-plated running boards with angular step bars.
Powering the Expedition Limited FX4 is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost® engine rated at 375 horsepower. It’s paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, a two-speed electronically controlled transfer case, an electronic limited-slip differential, and a heavy-duty engine radiator.
For even more capability, you can add the available heavy-duty trailer package, too. With this addition, the Expedition Limited FX4 can tow up to a class-leading 9,200 pounds.
The Expedition Limited also presents premium features like leather-trimmed seats, an 8-inch touch-screen system, a 12-speaker audio system, ambient lighting, and the Ford Co-Piot360™ suite of active driver safety aids.
The ruggedly luxurious 2020 Ford Expedition Limited FX4 is available now at Midwest Ford, and you’re invited to stop in and take it out for a spin.
