Venture Off Road in the 2020 Ford Expedition Limited FX4

If you don’t want to choose between an upscale driving experience and off-road-ready equipment in your next family SUV, the 2020 Ford Expedition Limited trim with the new FX4 off-road package may be your ideal vehicle.

When it’s outfitted with the available FX4 package, the Expedition boasts 32-inch all-terrain tires, premium off-road-tuned shocks, seven underbody skid plates, a shorter chin spoiler underneath the front bumper, and chrome-plated running boards with angular step bars.

Powering the Expedition Limited FX4 is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost® engine rated at 375 horsepower. It’s paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, a two-speed electronically controlled transfer case, an electronic limited-slip differential, and a heavy-duty engine radiator.

For even more capability, you can add the available heavy-duty trailer package, too. With this addition, the Expedition Limited FX4 can tow up to a class-leading 9,200 pounds.

The Expedition Limited also presents premium features like leather-trimmed seats, an 8-inch touch-screen system, a 12-speaker audio system, ambient lighting, and the Ford Co-Piot360™ suite of active driver safety aids.

2020 Super Duty Gets Tremor Off-Road Package

The all-new 2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty has impressive capabilities and durability. Off-road enthusiasts will also be happy to know that the truck is now offering the Tremor off-road package.

The Tremor package is available for XLT trims and higher that have a 6.75-foot box and are 4×4 single-rear-wheel SuperCrew trucks. The package comes with larger shocks, an improved suspension, and 1.7-inch piston twin-tube dampers.

A new Dana limited-slip front differential is included along with a locking rear differential for better stability. The truck can even drive through up to 33 inches of water and has 10.8 inches of ground clearance.

Completing the truck’s rugged appearance are 18-inch matte-finish black wheels. With these and 35-inch Goodyear Wrangle Duratrac maximum-traction all-terrain tires, it’s easier for the Super Duty to drive on a variety of terrains

For the first time, Trail Control™ is offered on the Super Duty to help maintain stability off-road. In addition, the Tremor package’s rock-crawl mode can assist your truck while it’s climbing over rocks.
